In January 2011 Hope Cove Lifeboat was granted registered charity status and by May 2011 the boat became fully operational as a Designated Facility to deliver Search and Rescue services to Bigbury Bay and the surrounding area. We provide our service 24/7, 365 days a year.

The charity works with parents, grandparents, teachers and pupils, plus other members of the local community, to support the educational experiences of approximately 240 local children in the Ashton on Mersey area of Sale. It organises a wide variety of fund-raising events over the year, in order to fund the purchase of extra resources and equipment to enhance and enrich the learning opportunities for the children. The "Friends of Wellfield" provides an opportunity for parents, local businesses and community groups to engage with local children's education and make a difference to provide a deeper, richer learning experience. It makes links between different generations and helps parents have an more active role in their education.
