Battersea United Charities combines and administers historic charities and funds that date from 1641 and unites a majority of the bequests and trusts set up by women and men from the historic Parish of St Mary's Battersea, and later the Metropolitan Borough of Battersea. We have a particular focus on helping fund developmental activities and school trips for children, further education and training to help young adults get into employment, the relief of need and support for the elderly - each year we provide food parcels at Christmas for hundreds of Battersea's oldest residents.

The Geelong Food Relief Centre (GFRC) was established in 1990 as a volunteer-run not for profit food bank operation. Today GFRC operates two mini-marts and a bulk distribution warehouse. GFRC aims to provide emergency food relief to socially and financially disadvantaged members of the community via a food voucher redemption system. In 2015/16 the level of emergency food relief provided by the Geelong Food Relief Centre increased by 39% compared to 2014/15 which is the biggest increase in demand for emergency food relief in our history. Geelong Food Relief Centre assisted in excess of 33,000 individuals / 14,200 families in 2015/16 in need of emergency food relief while distributing 300,000 kgs of nutritious food to our customers, other emergency relief organisations and school based breakfast programs.
