Swansea Mosque is a religious facility for Muslims in South Wales. Seeking to be in accordance with the Holy Quran and the sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him), it strives to be a key focal point of the community with expanding services and provisions to truly enrich society.
The Sawston Fun Run has been organised and expanded by the Rotary Club of Sawston District, on behalf of the local community for the past 10 years, and it is now the largest community led charity event in Cambridgeshire. Every year they try to improve the organisation and make it easier for participants to enter and raise sponsorship. The sponsorship money raised through Everyday Hero will be paid initially into the Rotary Club of Sawston District Charity Account where it will be eligible for Gift Aid. All of the money will then be distributed to the designated beneficiaries. By combining their skills, resources and enthusiasm, Rotarians make a real contribution to local communities by raising tens of thousands of pounds for community projects and local charities. Members also volunteer their time - supervising community events, running a host of projects aimed at promoting the achievements of young people, coordinating educational programmes, and supporting local businesses. It’s not surprising that ‘Community Service’ is the traditional and well-known public face of Rotary.
