(UK, 1096730) Browse eventsNo Strings helps children living in dangerous parts of the world understand how to better protect themselves. Using the wonderful talents of two of the leading Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock artists, our puppet films teach life-saving messages in ways that young people wholeheartedly enjoy, engage with, and remember. No Strings innovative film series provide children with educational messages vital to their wellbeing, and a vivid entry point into meaningful discussion activities around issues like natural disasters safety and preparedness in South East Asia, HIV awareness for children in sub-Saharan Africa, landmine awareness in Afghanistan, and a new series for Haitian children on keeping safe, healthy, and dealing with trauma. As part of our work, No Strings runs regional workshops where local teachers and facilitators explore fun and challenging ways to use the films. Puppet experts teach simple techniques that children might use in hand puppet sketches and role plays, so they can tackle issues in more depth. No Strings’ programmes have been embraced by many international organisations and their partners, including Trocaire, Plan, Catholic Relief Service (CRS), Oxfam, World Vision, International Organisation for Migration (IOM), Save the Children and Unicef.
