London Football Journeys (LFJ) is a UK charity that brings young people from diverse communities together to share new experiences, forge common ground and break postcode prejudices. Our ambition is to support the creation of self confident, motivated and engaged young people from different parts of London who break down negative perceptions of other areas, actively and progressively represent their community and grow as positive leaders. Rainbow Projects and PCC work in Sri Lanka caring for vulnerable girls and orphans victimised by civil war. In Kenya they support healthcare and education programmes. In the UK PCC supports foster carers and foster children and is housing unaccompanied minors and susceptible young adults, who are often the victims of war.
The Lainey K Foundation was established in 2006 in memory of Elaine Kennedy Martin who died on 9th December 2005, aged 33, after a courageous battle against cancer. We provide financial support to families living with cancer, towards childcare, transport, utility bills and general family expenses.
Although the activity on the pitch is the most noticeable, of course like any rugby club we cannot operate without backup from a team of willing volunteers, sponsors, supporters and partners.
Square Chapel Centre for the Arts is a thriving venue in the heart of Halifax providing the best in theatre, music, dance and comedy; workshops, activities and lectures; as well as the annual Halifax Festival and the Orangebox young people's centre! The Cornerstone Campaign Recently granted funding from Arts Council England towards an extension of the beautiful grade II* listed building, by Autumn 2015, Square Chapel will have improved access and facilities, a brand new cafe/restaurant, a multi-purpose second auditorium and a dedidacted space for our 170+ volunteers. With £5.1m already raised from trusts, foundations and individuals, we now need you to help us raise the last bit. Share in our success, we're almost there Aside from the diverse artistic programme and stunning listed building, what makes Square Chapel really special is the incredible community spirit and support that has carried it from being a derelict building in 1988 to a thriving arts and community venue 25 years later. We have now reached the point where we are out-growing our current capacity, and in order for us to continue providing activities and events, we need to expand. It is thanks to you – the people and the businesses of Calderdale – that we have been able to get to this point. Now we need your help again. You can support us financially by either making a regular donation or simply a one-off gift if you prefer. Different levels of giving are linked to various types of acknowledgement (details of which can be found on our website), providing you leave us with your name when you donate. Please share in our success. For the arts; for Halifax; for you. Thank you.
