Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate.Heworth CE School are a small church school of up to 140 pupils with an active Friends of Heworth charity. We fundraise throughout the year to help provide those important ‘extras’ for the children that would not otherwise be provided by the school. In recent years our efforts have helped purchase musical instruments, sports equipment, film and photographic equipment as well as most recently, helping refurbish, fit out and stock the school library. Please donate to support our cause. The Friends of Heworth are raising money for the usual support to school activities but the big fundraising effort for this year 2017/18 is to provide an outdoor classroom for all pupils to benefit from. This will be a very exciting addition to the school and we appreciate all support and donations we get, thank you. Charity No: 1032312

The Men's 10k needs you! (and £1 from you and 19 of your friends) The 2013 Men's 10k is under threat! Our charity has no government funding this year and unless we manage to raise tens of thousands of pounds there will be no Men’s 10k in 2013. The Men’s 10k team is applying for grants and looking at every available sponsorship opportunity. But as we know our biggest and best resource is our wonderful men, supporters and volunteers! If you and every other person who’s ever been a part of our great event raised just £20 then we’ve worked out that the Men's 10k would live to run another year! As well as giving you and your family and friends a great day out, the Men's 10k has a more serious side and that’s to engage men in Scotland in healthy physical activity and to promote health and wellbeing all year round. We want to change the scary statistic that the life expectancy of a man in Scotland is the lowest in Europe and 3 years less than in England and Wales. Did you know that each year around 40 per cent of the men taking part have NEVER entered a running event before? Our aim is that by taking part in the Men's 10k, they get that kick start they need to start living a healthier life and in the 6 years that we’ve been hosting the Men’s 10k, we’ve had some fantastic, positive feedback.. "Me and my brother are fat. We don’t like being fat. After the 10k we aim to be less fat." "I have ran this race three times before as I suffer from mental illness and running & exercise makes me feel better in myself. Its great to see all the guys getting out there and enjoying their run." "At 49 after a regular check up my GP told me if I didn’t start exercising, I’d probably be on a shed load of tablets in a few years time!! I thought this is the last chance saloon." So guys, please help us! Please click here to go to our fundraising event and let all your friends know! We’ve got until 31 October to find the money to make the 2013 Men’s 10k happen. we’re relying on (and extremely grateful to) you!
