This service began in 1992 to help the members of this community access professional counselling (via our 40 volunteer counsellors) who would otherwise be unable to do so.Hastings is a coastal area with high levels of deprivation (defined as 'the damaging lack of material benefits considered to be basic necessities in a society') experienced by a large proportion of the community.Determinants of deprivation e.g. unemployment, poverty are all known to impact negatively on emotional well-being. Please donate to support our cause.Each year over 600 clients pass through our doors, trying to cope with difficulties that include domestic abuse, physical, mental and sexual abuse, suicidal ideation, self-harm, depression, anxiety and more.
