VAC was formed in 1983 as a central part of the Victorian community’s response to HIV. We are a community organisation, funded primarily to deliver health promotion, care and support to those living with and those at risk of HIV and STIs. From the beginning, we have worked in a way that has capitalised on interaction and interdependence with affected individuals and communities and our response to the continually changing epidemic has always been in partnership with them. (AU, 65016845767) Browse eventsAnimals Australia is the only national animal protection organisation that actively exposes animal abuse and promotes a cruelty-free lifestyle. We are Australia’s second largest and most dynamic national animal protection organisation, representing some 40 member societies and thousands of individual supporters. Animals Australia has an unprecedented track record in investigating and exposing animal cruelty. In the past four years our work has resulted in four 60 Minutes segments exposing the cruelty in the live export trade and further segments highlighting animal cruelty on Today Tonight, Four Corners and Landline. Investigations in the Middle East have resulted in the first ever suspension of the live export trade (to Egypt) and to a benchmark prosecution of a live export company for cruelty. We are committed and unrelenting. We expose suffering, we educate the broader community, we research alternatives and we passionately and intelligently lobby governments to effect changes in laws to protect all animals. We have representation on all major state and national animal welfare committees. We are a non-profit charitable organisation financed through community support. Our important work on behalf of animals is reliant on the generosity of our members and donors.

We are calling on every rural and city person alike to join us on Sunday October 12 for #Run4FarmerHealth. This will be a show of strength, determination and courage to continue the work of National Centre for Farmer Health (NCFH). Tom Whitty, Media Manager at the Victorian Farmers Federation initiated the call to arms and is asking the public to join him. “Four years ago I could barely run 4 kilometres, let alone 42km. This year I will hopefully complete my third Melbourne Marathon and I want everyone who has ever benefited from the Centre's services to join me. “It’s about running or walking in solidarity and unity and telling those in power that rural communities deserve better,” Mr Whitty said. This show of support will highlight yet again to both sides of government the importance of the NCFH and its role of improving the health, wellbeing and safety of farmers, their workers and their families. The Run 4 Farmer Health team believe this campaign will continue to raise awareness of the crucial role the NCFH has played in delivering physical, practical and mental health wellbeing for rural and regional people. It will also support our ongoing work. Join Run 4 Farmer Health and choose from a variety of distance and capability options. Everyone can join in.

TAP recruits and trains Australian design professionals who volunteer to oversee the design and construction of these schools. TAP works in partnership with Manav Sadhna, an Indian NGO based in Mahatma Gandhi’s Ashram in Ahmedabad. Existing schools are housed in tiny corrugated iron lean-tos, with inadequate light and ventilation. In summer they are stifling hot, making it impossible for the children to learn. In partnership with the local community, TAP aims to create a simple and safe space in which children can learn, at minimum cost. TAP’s focus is on design considerations, such as better use of space, air flow ventilation, hygiene and natural light, and the Manav Sadhna ‘Three R’ philosophy – Recycle, Reduce, Reuse.
