We provide trusted up to date information and advice for the problems people face whilst empowering them to help themselves Our volunteers and staff are trained to the Citizens Advice high standard and have access to extensive information what is updated on a day to day basis. We help people resolve their legal, money and other problems with free, independent, impartial and confidential advice. We value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination and harassment. From their many and varied contacts with clients our advisers and assessors often identify unfair policies or practices which have the potential to affect many other people. The work our team of Research and Campaign officers carry out (behind the scenes) often leads to changes so that others in future don’t suffer in the same way. Childhood sexual abuse is like a cancer with long stretching tentacles that reach deep inside the soul of a survivor. It is emotionally crippling and results in deep psychological scars that are impossible to erase and seemingly impossible to heal. Heartfelt House endeavours to show adult survivors that there is another way. Heartfelt House recognises a survivor's potential to live a full and satisfying lives without their past haunting their today. Heartfelt House believes that with the right support and validation that reclaiming your life is only heartstrength away. We are located on the far north coast of New South Wales in beautiful and private gardens which are very conducive to healing. It is in this tranquil setting we run long and short term groups that walk survivors and their family and friends through their healing process.
The Greyhound Adoption Program (NSW), Inc. is a non-profit incorporated association dedicated to the welfare of all Greyhounds. It is our mission to: Educate the public about the true Greyhound personality and to alleviate misconceptions that many still have of this wonderful, gentle, majestic breed. Assess the suitability as pets of Greyhounds accepted into the Program and to introduce and educate them to living in a family environment. Find responsible, loving, long-term homes for as many Greyhounds as possible. Give lifetime support to GAP Greyhounds and their owners. Liaise with other organisations, in Australia and overseas, with similar goals. Improve and promote the positive image of Greyhounds and to stimulate the public's desire to own one or more as pets. Provide accurate advice about the Greyhound breed to other welfare agencies, vets, Government departments, the media and individuals. Work towards the repealing of Greyhound muzzling laws across Australia. Encourage improvements in welfare standards involving all Greyhounds, regardless of age or racing status. Raise funds to acquire a permanent facility for housing, training and rehoming retired Greyhounds.
