About Centre 56Centre 56 was started by two doctors and their partners in 1973, after becoming increasingly concerned over the injuries sustained by women in the hands of their partners. The centre has developed from a refuge in to a nursery and support centre in the heart of Liverpool. ChildcareCentre 56 provides childcare and support for children aged 2 to 14 via its nursery and after-school club, Pivvy. It provides a safe and secure environment to help children develop. SupportCentre 56 has highly experienced and qualified staff who understand the needs of people who have suffered domestic abuse or a crisis situation.Its experience and understanding supports families to manage their situation, enabling them to flourish.
