In achieving this, we have concentrated our efforts on supporting those children and communities in Sri Lanka who have been severely affected or impoverished as a direct consequence of the Asian Tsunami on 26 December 2004.

It is used by all of the community and surrounding district for meetings, playschool, classes, drama, music groups, village events and private parties. From time to time projects are undertaken to improve the facilities. Currently the kitchen is in need of extension and total re-furbishment. Your donation will help greatly towards the cost. We represent a diverse group of people involved in a range of community based activiies. We run a nightshelter project for the homeless, a regular youth club, a childrens church, parenting courses, teas for the elderly, marriage preparation and enrichment courses, various programmes for adult Christian formation and enquiry, a playgroup, a parent and toddler group and a range of other social activies. YTD Raised: £0.00Christ Church was established by Henry VIII in 1546. It is a unique joint foundation of a college in the University of Oxford and the cathedral of the diocese. Christ Church also has a designated art gallery, housing one of the most important private collections of Old Master paintings and drawings in Britain. It was open to the public since 1767 which makes it one of the first art collections in the country that offered free access to all interested art lovers. Our aim has been to preserve and display the collection for future generations. Among the works are nine fragments of a large panel depicting the lives of the hermits in the desert. These paintings are now in need of extensive conservation treatment. In order to be able to carry this out we have launched a fundraising campaign to SAVE THE HERMITS.
