(UK, 205858) Browse eventsRSPCA Bristol & District Branch is made up of the RSPCA Bristol Animal Clinic and Bristol Dogs and Cats Home. The RSPCA Animal Clinic treats over 12,000 animals a year and provides a 24 hour veterinary service for lost, sick and injured stray animals, subsidised veterinary treatment for people on a low income, a first aid centre for wildlife casualties and ‘well dog’ clinics for the animals of homeless people. Bristol Dogs & Cats Home, an integral part of the RSPCA Bristol & District Branch, has been caring for stray, unwanted and neglected cats, dogs and small animals for over 120 years. The Home provides care, shelter and a re-homing service for nearly 2,000 unwanted animals every year and is often full to capacity! With so many animals to care for our annual running costs exceed £1.4 million. The RSPCA Bristol Branch is an independent charity which receives no funding from the National RSPCA, Government or the Lottery. We therefore rely on the support from the community through donations, legacies and fundraising events to continue our important work, giving animals in need a second chance for a happy life, free from pain or neglect.

(US, 464368547) Browse eventsThe Lily Grace Foundation believes each child challenged by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has the fundamental right to reach their fullest potential. To help achieve this, we offer educational programs for students and educators, individual scholarships for alternative therapies (which insurance carriers typically will not cover), resources and much needed respite care for overwrought caregivers. In January we implemented a research pilot program called "Relaxation Station" in an ASD Jeffco Public School center based classroom. The goal of this program to help integrate ASD students into general ed classrooms by teaching them self-regulating and calming skills. With our educational programs, medical scholarships and caregiver support we passionately strive to make an impact in the lives of many children who otherwise would not have this type of opportunity for personal growth and expansion. 100% of the profits gained from the Colfax Marathon will go towards implementing "Relaxation Station" into 5 public school ASD classrooms in the Fall 2016/17 school year. Additionally, funds will provide for a new Pilot Program to train Teacher Aids who work in the ASD public school classrooms. Visit www.lilygracefoundation.org for more about us or contact Amanda Shannon, Founder, at [email protected]. A new government survey of parents suggests that 1 in 45 children, ages 3 through 17, have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
