(UK, 1071500) Browse eventsThrive (Cardiff) is a self funded registered charity run entirely by parent volunteers of children with special needs. Our aim is to offer our very special children, their siblings and families a protective arena where they can play in an exclusive, non-judgemental and supportive environment without prejudice. All children, including disabled children, have the right to play, have fun and take part in recreational activities. Play has a very important role in a child’s development, helping to develop speech, sensory skills, imagination, independence and perhaps most importantly for our children, social skills. Sadly not all children are given this chance simply because they look or act differently, but Thrive is committed to providing children with special needs these same opportunities. Without Thrive our children would not have the chance to play and develop as lack of public awareness and understanding prevents them from accessing mainstream recreational activities. We do our very best to ensure that our children don’t miss out on the things that other children perhaps take for granted. our aims: By supporting us you are helping to raise much needed funds to enable us to continue to provide disabled children with opportunities for play and recreation, regular activities during term time and school holidays.
