We have approximately 100 volunteers, taking over 42,000 caller contacts in a year, of which nearly 17,000 are of significant length - an average of appromiately 450 and 180 per volunteer per year respectively, well above the national average. This reflects the dedication, and hard work, of our volunteers. In addition, our speakers give presentation talks to schools, colleges, clubs and other organisations. Samaritans can be contacted by telephone, by letter, by email and by visiting the branch in Milford Street - over 95% of contacts are by telephone but email contact is growing.
