Every year we help hundreds of solicitors and their families in desperate financial need as a result of illness, accident, redundancy or some other misfortune. Increasingly our beneficiaries are young and perhaps prevented from working due to a disabling disease or a stress-related breakdown.
Healing the Wounds has been raising funds and awareness for our armed forces personnel, veterans and their families since December 2009. We have received tremendous support from our Welsh communities and beyond, who have realized the need to provide a place for our Welsh heros to receive treatment for PTSD ( post tramatic stress disorder ) and recover from what they have had to endure through the course of doing their duty, during conflicts past and present. Our fund raisers of all ages have held verious events by swimming, skydiving, climbing mountains, running distances and a host of other activities, to ensure that a much needed facility in Wales will be made available to our Welsh Warriors. The charity has already provided support and treatment for sufferers of PTSD, who now have quality of life.
Singing is a wonderful therapeutic activity and what's becoming increasingly clear to us is that there is growing body of clinical evidence that can prove it! Our work is embedded in research undertaken by Canterbury Christ Church University. Our mantra; “A song a day keeps the doctor away!” :o)

The great thing is its potential, whether your a small group, or have 2000 for an event or activity weekend, we have the experience, knowledge and resources to handle it. Hesley Wood provides a wide ranging scope of activities such as Canoeing, Climbing, Rifle Shooting, Team Building etc. Hesley Wood is a not-for-profit organisation supporting the aims of the Scout Association by delivering exciting educational experiences to young people through Outdoor Adventure.
