(UK, 1126500) UBAKA U RWANDA is a Christian charity building on 5 years of local success in turning around the lives of homeless children and young people in Rwanda’s capital, Kigali. Our work helps some of the thousands of young people driven onto the streets by the combined effect of the 1994 genocide, rural poverty, and conflicts within families. We founded a centre in 2008 that provides a desperately needed home for young people who have been orphaned, neglected or left in difficult situations. The centre provides shelter, education and guidance with the ultimate aim to help them live a self sufficient life away from the street.

(UK, 1079504) Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or motor neurone disease (MND), is a muscle wasting condition that affects individuals and those who care for them across the world. ALS/MND progresses rapidly; average life expectancy is estimated to be 2-5 years. Currently, there is no known cause or cure. It is estimated that over 400,000 people are living with ALS/MND worldwide! To help people with the disease, groups of people have come together to form associations. The International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations was founded in 1992 to provide an international community for individual ALS/MND associations from around the world. Our vision is to engage with our members, prospective members and other organisations to share resources globally, advance awareness and support people with ALS/MND worldwide.
