Friends for Life recognises how effective friendship is in reducing loneliness and recruits volunteers to become personal befrienders who can offer time, friendship and company to those who most need it. Most, but not all of those benefiting from Friends for Life befrienders are older people and Friends for Life offer their befrienders to any resident who is in need. Friends for Life befrienders make a real difference to the lives of those they visit and the work we do is enthusiastically endorsed by social services.
