For over 40 years AFAP has worked alongside local partners in Asia, Africa and the Pacific to tackle many of the challenges caused by poverty and to improve lives. AFAP works in over 20 countries in sectors ranging from water and sanitation to health, education, environment (climate change) and conservation, food security, and emergency relief. While our programs reach out to whole communities, we are particularly conscious of supporting the more marginalised or vulnerable groups within these communities, including people with disabilities, women, children and ethnic minorities. A small donation can go a long way in the countries where we work and we are very grateful for anything you can give. Consider that: $3.50 could purchase a 20lt jeri-can to store water so that women are not forced to walk up to 20KM every day to collect clean and safe water $8 could buy a treated mosquito net to prevent malaria $10 could purchase a school kit so that a child can be equipped for classes and get an education $20 could purchase an ex child labourer clothes for the school year $120 could purchase a sewing machine so that students can get training to become a seamstress and set up their own business. $200 could buy a family a dairy goat so they have access to milk for nutrition as well as a source of income $250 could build a latrine for less contaminated water sources and better sanitation and health $500 could provide a water hand pump to a community
