The charity was set up to address the drastic need for improved care and development for children living at the Chikondi Orphanage in Malawi The other principal activity to provide free field medical facilities to the needy children and adults especially the elderly. We began our work in Malawi in November 2008 by running our first medical camp under the KWATHU MEDICAL CAMP. The Charity has no religious, political or governmental affiliations. Our Basingstoke branch has supported the local community for more than 40 years. Our team of more than 50 listening volunteers is available seven days a week, 365 days a year. We respond to approximately 15,000 phone calls and emails each year. Each call costs us about £1.50 and to train a single volunteer costs around £100. We rely entirely on public donations and fundraising activity. With your help, we can make sure we have more volunteers taking calls when they are most needed.
