LVSC was founded as the Social Welfare Association for London on 4 March 1910 at the Mansion House, in the presence of the Lord Mayor of London. LVSC supports and provides a voice for the 60,000+ voluntary and community organisations in the capital. Our members include household name charities as well as small, grassroots community groups. We believe that voluntary and community action is integral to London’s success as a major world city, helping to make it a better, fairer and more enjoyable place to live. We support voluntary and community action by providing training, advice and guidance to not-for-profit groups operating in London, as well as responding to government policy, campaigning and representing our sector. In LVSCs centenary year Ian Goodman, from Lasa, has run the London Marathon on our behalf, and is aiming to raise £2010 pounds in sponsorship.
