Our vision is a better world. Our mission is to promote Canada in the United Kingdom through education. We fulfil this mission by supporting education and research and by showcasing to UK audiences the best of Canada and Canadians. We share Canadian values by creating a platform for conversation and the exchange of ideas. We build bridges between sectors, and we spark collaborations.
We work with young people aged 15+, providing opportunities to develop experience, life skills and accredited qualifications. And economically inactive adults - moving them closer to employment, increasing social skills and reducing feelings of isolation for our local community in Scarborough.
The World War 1 Remembrance Centre in Portsmouth, is a registered charity no. 1195390 and is dedicated to the eternal memory of those who fought and died in the conflict. We promote remembrance through education and commemoration to ensure that present and future generations never forget the sacrifices made by past generations. The World War 1 Remembrance Centre is a very important and often overlooked museum in Portsmouth. The Museum is run by volunteers and relies entirely on public donations. Although small, the stories our guides tell to take you through the war are informative and often moving. They don’t just talk about acts of heroism rewarded with medals, they tell you about everyday lives of the solders in trenches, how Winnie the Pooh came to be written and what the general populace back home were doing to cope with life when the world was at war.
