(UK, 297516) The Rotary Club of Yeo Vale helps local, national and international charities both through charitable fund raising activities and through the undertaking of various practical tasks where this is possible. Often a club is linked with a school and we work with Stanchester School at Stoke sub Hamdon to provide senior student training and practice job interviews. In the year ended June 2010 the club was able to donate over £17,500 to charitable causes both locally and internationally. We have continued to support Yeovil Opportunity Group in practical ways as well as financially including the provision of a website - www.yog.org.uk In 2012 we held a very successful Classic Car Show (see www.automotivespectacular.co.uk) to raise funds for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and other charities. We also held a fundraising event at East Coker for Macmillan Cancer Support and Treloar Trust with a truly inspirational speaker. We have worked with the Rotary Club of Yeovil on some joint events - a Golfing Day and also "It's Childsplay" (a sponsored walk with a difference) in May.
