Over the past year the National Art School has made tremendous strides with increased student enrolments, the completion of the new Postgraduate Centre, new programs and very high levels of staff and student satisfaction within the School. Our alumni continue to achieve at the highest levels across a wide range of artforms, locally and globally. This year alone they have appeared on the walls of several state galleries and museums and innumerable commercial gallery exhibitions and featured in and often won awards and prizes. Fiona Hall AO, representing Australia in the new pavilion at the Venice Biennale, is one of many who demonstrate the strength of our teaching and traditions and the power of art to engage with the important concerns of our world. Fiona’s work has been listed several times in the ‘must see’ exhibitions in Venice.
