YTD Raised: $0.00

Loddon Mallee Kids (LMK) is a not for profit organisation and a deductable Gift Recipient,  that offers information, advice and ongoing support to the families of premature babies.   Last year alone, 1169 babies were born at Bendigo Health.  Of this 360 babies (a massive 30%) went through the Special Care Baby Unit which offers care to sick and premature babies.    Children born prematurely face continued physical and developmental challenges from birth up to school age and sometimes beyond.  As parents of premature children ourselves, we understand the emotional hardship that this can have on the families of those children and seek to offer not only ideas, guidance and suggestions to help the child overcome their physical and developmental challenges but also emotional assistance through empathy, friendship and understanding for their family as a whole.   This is primarily achieved through our fortnightly playgroup and weekly hospital visits to St John of God and Bendigo Health to meet with the families of newly born premature babies.     LMK relies primarily on corporate sponsorship and philanthropic donations to operate.  With your help, we can make a difference.

ASK-Y (Against The Silent Killer of the Young) (AU, 66190552805) Browse events

YTD Raised: $0.00

ASK Y was founded 2 years after the sudden death of our son and the realisation that so many families have been affected by the loss of loved ones due to cardiac arrhythmias. It was increasingly apparent that in likeness to ourselves, the shock and incomprehension of why and how a young life could be taken without warning signs or symptoms of disease, has compounded the grief with helplessness, emptiness and continual questioning.   So many of us are left without answers. We are not advantaged to have a specific cardiac arrhythmic condition responsible, we have no diagnosis, our loved ones deaths are “unascertained”.   ASK-Y offers support and information for families and friends of all loved ones’ lost to sudden cardiac arrhythmia syndromes and is dedicated to the many who are yet to find answers.

Founded in 1854, the St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria assists over 660,000 people each year. Across Australia, approximately 5,000 people are assisted by the Society every day.  The Society helps all who ask for assistance, regardless of background, beliefs, culture or religion.    With a commitment to giving a hand up – not a hand out – the Society meets people at their unique point of need offering hope, comfort and dignity to Victorians finding themselves needing a helping hand.  Members and volunteers respond to calls from people in need within their local communities and provide friendship and practical assistance of approximately $10 million each year in Victoria alone.    Vinnies Retail Centres provide quality clothing, furniture and household items to people in need. Stocks are freely supplied to people being supported by the Society, as well as to the general public at a low cost. Profits from the sale of stock in the centres assists in funding the work of the Society.   The Society’s five soup vans services provide approximately 200,000 meals each year to people on Victoria’s streets. With more families coming to our soup vans for help, the friendship and referrals that the soup vans offer are increasingly important across Victoria. Staffed by volunteers called “Vannies”, the vans travel the streets of metropolitan Melbourne and Moe bringing food and friendship to thousands of people living in boarding houses, low-rise/high-rise flats, refuges and on the streets.    The Society’s services include:  Home, hospital and prison visitation;  Practical and material assistance; Soup vans;  Mental health support;  Homeless services;  Tutoring programs;  Youth services;  Kids camps for disadvantaged children; Migrant and refugee support; Overseas Aid;  Social advocacy and lobbying.

We are a small group of friendly volunteers that rescue, transport and foster care for the unloved, abandoned and unwanted animals from the major pounds in NSW. Our aim is to rehome all these beautiful and needy dogs to loving forever homes where they are able to have a second chance in life.  Our aim is to rehabilite these animals and educate people in the community on responsible pet ownership and the joys of rescuing a pound dog or cat!   We always have a large group of rescue dogs that are looking for new homes. These rescue dogs are placed in foster homes until they find their forever homes. By placing our dogs in foster homes we are able to thoroughly assess their temperement and the way they interact with other people and animals. Every rescue dog has a different personality and we feel it is important to allow each dog to be in a loving and suitable environment in which they will thrive and learn to adapt into their new lifestyle.   We rescue animals of all ages, sizes and personalities. We feel that every animal is special and deserves a second chance at life. We believe there is an owner for every animal out there and it is just a matter of finding them. Our philosophy is to assess prospective homes in order to best match a prospective animal to their new owner. Our main aim is to prevent a mismatch as this will prevent further animals from ending up in the pound.  All of our animals are rehomed with a two week trial and we recommend utilises this two week trial to ensure they have found a dog that isa good match for their family.

St John's College- Volunteer Projects (AU, 19260278981) Browse events

YTD Raised: $0.00

St John's College, University of Sydney is raising money to improve the infrastructure at a Primary School in Zimbabwe. St Goroni Boniface School hosts approximately 370 enthusiastic students aged between 5-15 years. However, the learning environment is a humbling sight: the blackboards are peeling from the walls, the library ceiling recently caved in due to heavy rainfall, and there are not enough classrooms to host proper classes for all the students. This is all going to change! The St John's College Volunteer Network has come up with exciting events to raise money and to make sure these problems are history. We aim to build a new library with books, replace all the blackboards and furniture, and build classrooms to ensure that each class may have their own room.
