At St Philip Neri we emphasise catering for the 'whole' person - spiritually, socially, physically, emotionally, culturally, and intellectually based on Gospel values. We aim to provide opportunities for your child to experience and celebrate success and learning at their own individual level. We help your child to experience God's love and nurture his/her personal faith in an environment of prayer, celebration, belonging and community. Our school motto is 'Deeds not Words' and our students are invited to participate in social justice programs, giving expression to our Catholic beliefs, by making relevant connections to the contemporary world.
There are over 7000 newly diagnosed cases of kidney cancer each year in the UK. There is an urgent need for earlier diagnosis and more effective treatment. KCUK seeks to raise public awareness of kidney cancer and to support patients and carers through our new website, newsletters and meetings.
Action on Elder Abuse works to protect, and prevent the abuse of vulnerable older adults. It does this through the provision of a freephone helpline, training and educating key workers, and also by challenging government to make essential changes to the law which protect those at risk of abuse.
Cameron’s Companions will aim to provide free access to private counselling or appropriate therapies, for men and boys in England and Wales, minimising waiting lists and times for those in need. We are non judgemental and don’t require a medical diagnosis prior to helping.
At Mahora School our mission is to engage all learners to strive to reach their full potential. The school motto is “Piki Haere”, which we use to represent the concept of “Keep on Climbing”. This was given to the school by Bishop Bennett of Waiapu. The motto fits very well with enhancing our children’s learning and further developing our school. We are a decile 3 school with a current roll of 331 students. The school has adopted a whakataukī from 2016 - ‘Mā te huruhuru ka rere te manu’ - ‘Adorn the bird with feathers so it can fly’. School camp is one of the many highlights for our senior students each year. We strive to give our tamariki experiences that they may not have had before. They are challenged to work as a team as well as developing independence. This year we are travelling 250km away to Rotorua. There, we will be engaged in a classic NZ outdoor educational camp at Lakes Ranch. Some of the activities include a Mud Run, Flying Fox, Mud Slide, Archery, Swoop Swing, and many more. We are hoping to raise as much as we can to help reduce the cost per student.
Our primary school is a lovely Bayside school. We have 264 children from prep to grade 6. We pride ourselves on our community relationships and teamwork.
