About CSCHCommunity has always been very important to us at Central Southwark Community Hub, which is why we are so excited to launch our initiative to help vulnerable people achieve the basics that we all need to survive.Our team have managed a Foodbank for seven years and been involved in other community projects at various levels. During our time we have noticed how the people who rely on them are, more often than not, in need through no fault of their own and are merely victims of circumstance.Our newest venture is to open a community hub, including a food bank, that will give people in need a place to visit that will help them receive some basic care provisions and give them the means to improve their own situations.Please visit our website for more information. (UK, 1082798W) Woking Hospice opened in 1996 to provide palliative care and support to patients and their families living with a life limiting illness in the Woking, Surrey Heath and North Guildford area. Woking Hospice aims to improve the lives of people whose illness may not be curable. We help people to live as actively as possible after diagnosis to the end of their lives, however long that may be. The highest value is put on respect and choice and support is also given to families and close friends, both during the illness and in bereavement. All care is provided for free and as a registered charity the Hospice relies on the support of the community to help fund their work.

Ovarian cancer is an insidious disease, often known as a “silent-killer” as symptoms are vague and often strike without warning. Unlike many other cancers there is no early detection test. Consequently ovarian cancer is often diagnosed in its late stages and only 20%-30% of women will survive beyond five years of diagnosis. In comparison, survival rates increase to 80-100% when ovarian cancer is detected and treated early. The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation is Australia’s pre-eminent ovarian cancer research body. Our goal is to raise ovarian cancer awareness and vital funds for the development of an early detection test that will save women’s lives. We receive no government funding and rely on the support of our community and business supporters to assist in driving our research forward.
