(UK, 1126903) Browse eventsThe Rose Education Foundation aims to provide a support programme, both internationally and in the UK, to help provide appropriate educational opportunities which we believe will enable many children and young people to enjoy a better future for themselves than they currently look forward to. We have founded the Rose Education Foundation which seeks to improve, enrich and enhance the quality of life for children and young people both in the UK and abroad. At the foundation we believe that education is one of the keys which will help alleviate many of the problems facing children and young people of this and future generations. The need is different in each country and area but as Nelson Mandela is quoted as saying “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” and the Rose Education Foundation endeavours to prove this truth by demonstrating Love in Action. Our continued presence in the village is a benefit to village families, Ramsbury Primary School, and the local economy. Our current premises do not meet current regulations in terms of the building’s condition, layout, facilities and external space. We want to stay in the village, in a permanent home that meets all government regulations and helps us give our children the best start. (UK, 1150197) Browse eventsWe improve the life chances and raise levels of aspiration among young carers who provide a significant level of care for a disabled or seriously ill family member. Our young carers have mentioned the difficulty in balancing school, especially school work, and the demands of their home life. 48 school days (10 weeks) are missed or cut significantly short because of their caring role. Young adult carers aged between 16 and 18 years are twice as likely not to be in education, employment, or training. The Young Carers Development Trust enables young carers to fulfil their potential. Many young carers have developed resilience and transferable skills and we support them to achieve success. Our young carers are from families who are financially constrained and many of them have never had a relative attend further education. In addition, through highlighting the success of individuals we challenge systems and provide a route map for success for countless others. Our unique approach is to work with local young carers services to identify young carers with real potential who are unlikely to succeed without targeted support. We provide long term mentoring, practical and financial support for up to four years to each young carer.
