(UK, 1160659) Browse eventsErin Bates was 11 years old when she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. Following treatment it appeared that she was beating the disease and tried to get back into playing football, with her team Washington AFC u12 Wildcats, which she enjoyed before she became ill. She found it difficult with her obvious physical and mental frailties. Unfortunately Erin passed away in July 2014 and as part of her legacy her family and friends initially raised around £17000 for local and national children's cancer charities. In October 2014 we decided to set up our own charity to help children in Erin's situation to return to sport and physical activity in an environment suitable for their needs to promote and improve their physical and mental health.
