Greater Manchester Transport Society (GMTS) is the volunteer charity operating the Museum of Transport, Greater Manchester - which is owned by Transport for Greater Manchester. The Museum of Transport, Greater Manchester tells the story of public road transport in Greater Manchester from its very beginnings in 1824 to the present day. The collection spans over 100 years, from an 1890s horse bus to a full size prototype Metrolink tram. Opened in 1979, the Museum if a partnership between Transport for Greater Manchester and Greater Manchester Transport Society and is an early example of successful partnership working between a local authority and a voluntary body. Palcrafts aims to relieve poverty for Palestinians Palcrafts aims to relieve poverty for Palestinians by providing a sustainable source of income for artisans and farmers and is mainly done through the trading arm Hadeel. Secondly it aims to raise awareness in the UK of Palestinian issues. Thirdly it gives grants to producer groups. This has included recent grants to update computer equipment and machinery to improve productivity and improve Health & Safety. The Sian Green Foundation Provides funding for Amputee's to receive private care for prosthetic limbs. We aim to help people get the desired limbs they need for walking, swimming, running, climbing etc. Amputations come in different shapes and sizes which means walking can be very uncomfortable and good prosthetic limbs cost money. As a charity we will help an Amputee part fund the best prosthetic limb that will help them become more mobile and live a more active life.
