Inspired by an incredible wife and mother of five, Sharon Heazle (who was diagnosed with NETs in early 2012), the charity aims to support research into potential treatments for NETs and is linked to the work of Professor Magnus Essand of Uppsala University in Sweden who is pioneering a cancer-bashing oncolytic virus in his lab. All money raised by Lets Beat NETs is passed to Uppsala University to help them fund clinical trials with Prof Essand's virus to give those suffering from NETs hope for a better future.
