Church Crookham and Fleet Mens Shed (UK, CIO1171613) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

A men’s shed is a larger version of the typical man’s shed in the garden – a place where he feels at home and pursues practical interests with a high degree of autonomy. A men’s shed offers members a place to work on projects at their own pace and in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue. A shed’s activities usually involve making or mending in wood (eg carpentry, joinery, turning, carving, whittling, marquetry, furniture renovation) but may include metalworking (milling, sheet metal, welding etc) bike repair, gardening, electronics, tool renovation, boat renovation, model engineering (model railways, planes) and even building a car! Reclamation, reuse and restoration will feature strongly – and some say that is true of the men too! Although sheds mostly attract older men, some have included men of any age, women and young people. Whichever activities are pursued the essence of a shed is not a building, which some don’t have, but the network of relationships between the members.

Volunteering Moldova (UK, 1161570) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Volunteering Moldova is a non-profit charity in England that aims to benefit the lives of vulnerable people living in state run institutions in Moldova. We offer volunteering opportunities within state run institutions in Moldova. The institutions are a orphanage for children, a Small Group Home and an institution for males with disabilities. Donations allow us to help in the most basic of ways. Through your donation, we are able to buy basic supplies for the institutions as requested. No donation is too small and all donations are equally important to us. Our trustees pay all running costs for the charity to ensure that 100% of your donation goes to make a difference to the lives of those living in institutions in Moldova. National Stem Cell Foundation of Australia (AU, 84152713098) Browse events

YTD Raised: $0.00

The National Stem Cell foundation of Australia (NSCFA) was established in mid-2011 as the follow-on organisation from the Australian Stem Cell Centre. It is a public company limited by guarantee (ABN: 84 152 713 098) that has been endorsed by the ATO as a charitable body with deductible gift recipient status.   Its mission is to promote the study and use of stem cells in the prevention or control of disease in human beings and to enhance public education in this field.   The NSCFA was established by the Australian Stem Cell Centre to carry on the work that the Centre started. When the Centre had reached the end of its Government funding cycle, it was essential the money raised continued to be directed towards stem cell research and public education. The NSCFA was set up to continue to fund the development of stem cell technology, and increase public awareness.   Provide resources for the Australian public on stem cell technology and regenerative medicine including its risks, achievements, benefits and overall technical progress. Pursue cures for, as yet untreatable diseases, using stem cell technology and regenerative medicine. This is reached by supporting research activities in these areas. We achieve these aims by pursuing charitable purposes only, and using donations received to promote these activities.
