Our support services focus on ensuring that ‘heart families’ are not alone on their journey with Childhood Heart Disease (CHD). We also advocate on behalf of the CHD community and work hard to improve public awareness about the disease, its impacts and the vital need for increased levels of support. Importantly, we partner with leading cardiologists and researchers who are working to reduce the incidence of CHD and to decrease the unacceptably high mortality rate. CHD affects 1 in 100 Australian children and is the greatest reason for admission of children into intensive care. The disease is the biggest killer of children under one – taking more young lives than all cancers combined. We need you to be a HeartKids Hero…
