The Saiga Antelope is one of the most threatened species on the planet. Their numbers have declined by 95% in just 15 years. Help us to reverse this tragic decline. Saiga antelopes used to roam the plains along with mammoths, woolly rhinos and sabre-toothed cats. Now this unique antelope is under threat from poachers, who hunt the male saigas for their horns (which are used in traditional Chinese medicine).New railways and roads as well as oil and gas exploration are fragmenting the saiga's traditional pastures and stopping them from using their age-old migration routes. The Saiga Conservation Alliance works with local people in China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia and Uzbekistan to carry our conservation projects which help save this critically endangered antelope from imminent extinction.
