(UK, 1188036) At Parenting Mental Health, we believe parents have a vital, often overlooked role to play in supporting their children to strong, resilient and positive mental health, and this happens when we as parents change our own behaviours and expectations to meet the different demands of mental illness. But how do we cope with something none of us are experienced at or expect to have to deal with? When your child experiences poor mental health, the whole family is impacted. Life is not the same as it was before - it is uncertain, full of challenge, and overloaded with emotion and expectation. And no one seems to get it or talk about it - which is why we offer a safe, judgement-free space for parents to explore how they feel about this experience and reduce isolation by connecting with others in similar situations. Parenting Mental Health supports parents to understand their child's illness and that mental illness offers an opportunity to reflect on their behaviour, communication and emotions. We offer the kind of understanding that can be so hard to find when the family you knew and loved is shaken up by poor mental health. Parents who complete our training and follow our methodology model better behaviours around acceptance, communication, consistency and self care, which lead to better relationships. In time, when the next generation become parents, we hope they will model the positive behaviours of their parents and be more understanding of mental health.

(UK, 1145387) Conservation through Research, Awareness and Education UK Registered Charity Number: 1145387 Our Vision A sustainable future for the oceans where manta and mobula rays thrive in healthy, diverse marine ecosystems. The Manta Trust takes a multidisciplinary approach to the worldwide conservation of manta rays and their habitat through robust science and research, while raising awareness and providing education to the general public and community stakeholders alike. Manta rays are among the most charismatic creatures that inhabit our oceans. With the largest brain of all fish their intelligence and curiosity make encounters with these creatures a truly amazing experience. However, despite their popularity with divers and snorkelers many aspects of these creatures lives remain a mystery, with only snippets of their life history understood. More worryingly, in recent years, a fishery for these animals has developed with devastating effects on populations of these animals globally. The Manta Trust was formed in 2011 to co-ordinate global research and conservation efforts for these amazing animals, their close relatives and their habitat. As charismatic megafauna manta rays act as flagship species, helping to promote and engage the general public in the wider message of marine ecosystem conservation. Through this top down approach to conservation the manta ray becomes the catalyst for change, engaging and motivating the general public, governments and local communities alike. A UK Registered Charity, the Trust brings together a number of projects from around the globe, both new and long-standing, including the Republic of Maldives, Sri Lanka, Mexico and Indonesia. By conducting long-term, robust studies into manta populations in these locations we aim to build the solid foundations upon which Governments, NGO’s and conservationists can make informed and effective decisions to ensure the long term survival of these animals and their habitat. Good conservation requires a holistic approach. The Manta Trust researchers and volunteers work closely with tourists, local communities, businesses and governments to ensure the preservation of these amazing animals through good science, education, community based initiatives and government legislation. As the scope of the Trust’s work continues to grow our goal is to expand these efforts globally.

YTD Raised: £0.00The Playhouse Foundation provides young children with autism the opportunity to have an educational home programme (Applied Behavioural Analysis) in the critical early years, which will support individual needs but without placing the entire financial burden on their families. We provide bursaries for children with autism between the ages of 2.5 - 3.5 years old within Hampshire to participate in an ABA programme. Funds are offered to means tested families and each bursary provides the financial support to staff a consultant and a team of tutors throughout the first year. Through early intervention, our aim is to provide young children with autism the opportunity to have a highly effective tailor-made programme, which uses techniques and principles to bring about meaningful and positive changes in behaviour. They will acquire the skills to improve their functional daily living and communication, play and social interaction, and allow them access to the most appropriate school setting with provision to best match their needs.
