(UK, 1077316) Haslewey opened its doors to provide a much needed community centre for all ages in the area 15 years ago. Haslewey is a completely independent organisation, a registered charity that runs as a business. We are reliant on around 80 volunteers and 9 employed staff. To enable Haslewey to continue to benefit the local community we are heavily dependent on income we generate from room hire, services we offer, fundraising through the local community, grants and lets not forget about team of our amazing and dedicated volunteers helping at the cafe, kitchen, reception and Community Meals Service. We could not run the centre without their help and support. Thanks our fantastic community we managed to raise £15,000 to open small post office after old facility was shut down. We are running our own cafe, open from Monday to Friday, offering breakfast, lunch or a light snack with cup of tea or glass of wine. Our centre offers wide range of activities for all ages like Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Bingo, Stretch & Tone and many more. Our Community Meals Service, delivers hot and freshly cooked lunches from Monday to Friday for those who are unable to provide meal for themselves. It has been a great success, and the number of people signing up for the service is still rising. We also have a community car, used for our clients and volunteers to help them with transport or delivering CMS. Majority of our clients are elderly, sometimes very lonely and frail people who finds not only a company but also an entertainment at the centre. We care for their wellbeing and love to see them at the centre.
