Calvary Wakefield Hospital has 180 high technology acute private hospital beds. It is a major tertiary hospital with a strong focus on neurosurgery, cardiac services and orthopaedic surgery. A day surgery, consulting suites, 24 hour private emergency centre, level 3 ICU, CCU, angiography suite, high dependency unit and the free standing Wakefield Surgicentre day surgery make up a comprehensive medical precinct. We are focused on continuing to enhance the important relationships with our medical practitioners. Samaritans have had a Branch in Salisbury for over 40 years. The doors are open 12 hours a day to visitors, and we aim to have two telephones manned for 24 hours a day, every day of the year. We have approximately 100 volunteers, taking over 42,000 caller contacts in a year, of which nearly 17,000 are of significant length - an average of appromiately 450 and 180 per volunteer per year respectively, well above the national average. This reflects the dedication, and hard work, of our volunteers. In addition, our speakers give presentation talks to schools, colleges, clubs and other organisations. Samaritans can be contacted by telephone, by letter, by email and by visiting the branch in Milford Street - over 95% of contacts are by telephone but email contact is growing.

Support for amputees, their families, and carers living in the Gosford/Wyong Local Government areas. Peer Support Visitors to hospital in-patients as well as home visits upon requests. Facing limb loss is one of the most devastating and traumatic experiences you could imagine. Many people find themselves experiencing very strong feelings before and after the amputation. One of the most distressing feelings that many people experience is the sense of loss amputation can bring coupled with anxiety and concern. Many people also feel anger and resentment. Some amputees will feel numb and show no response, whilst the most common feeling is depression and a feeling of complete helplessness, utter terror and one feels alone confronting this horrific situation. The most important first step is to recognise these feelings when they occur, accept that we feel this way and talk to others who have been through this traumatic experience. The Central Coast Amputee Association Inc. has trained amputee visitors ready and willing to visit amputees in hospital and at home upon request. Confidentiality is guaranteed. Please phone 4328 1004 to arrange a visit.

The objective of Blue Sky Project is to contribute towards a reduction in the number of children and young adults affected by poverty in South-East Asia. In particular, Blue Sky Project is focused on providing improved quality of life and access of education in less fortunate, lower socio-economic, and regional areas in the region. Blue Sky Project operates as an independant organisation, not as a subsidiary of other NGOs, or multi-national charities. Therefore, Blue Sky Project maintains complete ownership and control how its funds are managed (from donation to benefit). This ensures that Blue Sky Project is able to minimise administrative overheads and limit donation-leakage.
We are a church with people from all ages and stages of life: students, parents, rich, poor, kids, youth, retirees, and everything in between! We'd love to have you join us.
