(UK, 1139527) Browse eventsThe work of the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group relieves poverty and brings hope to more than 111,000 Palestinians every year. Services provided by our Hospitals, Clinics and Mobile Outreach Unit revive education and employment prospects, and contribute to economic growth and rebuilding the fractured infrastructure. We treat patients regardless of ethnicity, religion or ability to pay. Our work changes lives. Core activities now include: • The East Jerusalem Eye Hospital• The Hebron Eye Hospital• The Gaza Clinic• The Anabta Clinic• Mobile Outreach Programme• Training local Doctors and Nurses. Although 80% of all blindness is preventable, much of it caused by poor diet, diabetes and cataracts, the people of the occupied Palestinian territory (OPT) have a rate of blindness ten times higher than in the West. Poverty levels are high. The West Bank is home to some 700,000 refugees and 51.8% of all families live on less than US$3.15 per person per day. Your support of this very worthy cause is vitally important to us. Thank you!

Our vision is a society where all young people are healthy, stay safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic well-being. Annually Motiv8 works with over 2000 young people from Portsmouth, Havant and Gosport. Much of this is targeted and results in a positive outcome for over 90% of the young people Motiv8 supports. This support can last a long time and in some cases two or three years. Giving a young person the opportunity to develop personally or give increased options for training and learning can lead to better employment opportunities. We support young people to deliver three main outcomes; Reducing offending and re-offending A reduction in the number of first time entrants and total number of offenders in the youth criminal justice system. School Attendance Improved attendance at secondary school, contributing to improved and accredited attainment both in school and beyond Employment Progression Young people over the age of 16 progressing in Education or moving into Training and Employment Some young people may simply gain the confidence to return to education, whilst others are diverted from a life of crime.
