Save the Rhino International works to conserve genetically viable populations of critically endangered rhinoceros species in the wild. We do this by fundraising for and making grants to rhino- and community-based conservation projects in Africa and Asia.

The effects of rheumatic heart disease are severe and include: The tragedy is that with early detection and proper treatment many of these devastating complications can be prevented. Early detection is best provided by ultrasound of the heart (echocardiography). Our volunteers will travel to Cape Town where they will screen school students from rural communities for signs of early stage rheumatic heart disease. Aftercare and treatment will be managed by the team at Tygerberg Hospital. Echo in Africa is the humanitarian project of the British Society of Echocardiography. Samaritans of Aberdeen and District (also known as Aberdeen Samaritans) were established in 1960 and were the 6th Samaritans Branch to open in the UK. Aberdeen Samaritans provides completely confidential emotional support by telephone, face to face, email and outside our centre in prisons, hospitals, schools and workplaces. The charity's main objectives are: To provide assistance to individuals who are suicidal, despairing or in distress in order to reduce the incidence of suicide; and To advance education by providing society with a better understanding of suicide, suicidal behaviour and the value of expressing feelings that may lead to suicide.
Edmund Rice Camps NSW provides activity based recreational programs to young people aged 6-15 years in NSW who would not otherwise be able to access such activities due to disadvantage, marginalisation and isolation. Our programs are run by young adult volunteers who provide positive interaction and model positive behaviours in all activities. We aim to engage leaders in reflective action for others, as well as building their leadership, confidence, and engagement in the community. In so doing we hope to work towards a more just society.

Services are free of charge. We are funded primarily by the community, receiving approximately 4% of our income from government funding.
