Laburnum Boat Club is a small children's charity based in East London. We provide social education to local disadvantaged young people and thier families through participation in a range of water-based activities. We aim to be a positive force for changing lives in a safe and supportive environment. Set up in 1983 by a group of local parents, to provide exciting and challening activities for young poeple, we have grown steadily ever since. Aberdeen Samaritans provides completely confidential emotional support by telephone, face to face, email and outside our centre in prisons, hospitals, schools and workplaces. The charity's main objectives are: To provide assistance to individuals who are suicidal, despairing or in distress in order to reduce the incidence of suicide; and To advance education by providing society with a better understanding of suicide, suicidal behaviour and the value of expressing feelings that may lead to suicide.
