Wyke Food Bank is a Christian organisation situated in the heart of the community. Our aim is to support local people who are experiencing long term difficulties and short term crises. We distribute emergency food provision and hygiene goods, providing a safe place for people who need to see or confide in a friendly face. We offer prayer to all who visit the food bank. We also run a Baby Bank, providing clothing, toys, nappies, baby food and hygiene goods for children under 5 years old. On non-food bank days there is a Drop In Cafe which provides free hot and cold refreshments, a place for adults to congregate and to access a qualified Benefits and Debt Advisor. During 2019 we helped 598 households with food provision, feeding 1,613 adults and children with the equivalent of over 14,500 meals.
The babybank provides essential & non-essential items for baby, child & pregnancy-related items, 80% donated.We offer exchange service gifted to families through referrals via G.Ps, Health visitors,SS,ME,Support workers & self referrals
