(UK, 229151) Browse eventsWho are we? We are an official Charitable Body with an elected Board of Trustees and a group of volunteers working together with the NHS Primary Care Trust. What do we do? We run the Hospital Shop, the two Coffee Shops and the daily Ward Trolleys. Also, we have book sales, collecting boxes for loose change in the Hospital Foyer and collecting tins around the Island. Why do we do it? To supplement the excellent service already provided by St Mary’s by financing extra facilities which enhance the lives of patients, staff and visitors alike. In recent years, the League of Friends has provided much-needed equipment which has contributed to patient well-being, both during their stay in hospital and also in community care. Since the League of Friends, now the Friends of St Mary’s Hospital, was founded, hundreds of thousands of pounds have been raised. Approximately half a million pounds has been donated from the takings achieved by the volunteers since the year 2000.
(UK, 1097189) Browse eventsThe Friends of Windlesham Village Infant School exists to raise funds that will directly benefit the children of Windlesham Village Infant School, according to the 'wish list' of needs and requirements as suggested by the parents and the teachers of the School. Sometimes this will be a result of the children's project work - Such as designing a new area for the playground. At other times it will be For resources to improve a particular area of the curriculum or School environment. In the main the Friends' Funds are for the 'extras' not provided by the School budget, that make our children's learning experiences so much more fulfilling and exciting.
(UK, SC043373) Browse eventsThank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. SAMs is a unique Charity based in Glasgow. We aim to provide families who have children with special needs the opportunity to come along to our organised Clubs where the children can interact with others, play games and have fun while the parents relax and take time out. Every year we fundraise, apply for grants and do what we can to raise money to be able to take the group away on holiday to Scarborough for the week. During this time we organise everything from accommodation, transport, activities for the day/evening and much much more. This gives the children a great experience of an organised, fun-filled holiday that they, and their parents, find hard to enjoy under normal circumstances. Parents are given respite from the day-to-day care of their child(ren) and manage to be part of the holiday, taking part or taking time out as they see fit, knowing that their child(ren) are in the best of care.
