(AU, 93943434934) Paceline is a charity that raises awareness and funds for cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats). The funds gathered through Paceline are directed to research which enhances our understanding of these debilitating disorders. With more than 400,000 Australians having one kind of cardiac arrhythmia or another, and this number constantly growing, it is essential that every effort is made to promote understanding and develop treatments. Having funding will allow us to better understand why cardiac arrhythmias occur, enabling us to develop cures whilst also producing strong rehabilitation programmes to change the lives of the people with these conditions. Please help us achieve our objective by donating funds to assist with the research of our world class research facilities, Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute and the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.

(UK, SC021765) The Scottish Christian Alliance’s aim is to support & help people facing the challenges of homelessness & resettlement. We do this by providing high quality care & support services to enable them to realise their potential & make positive life choices. We have two projects currently running: The ARCH Based in glasgow, the ARCH resettlement centre takes homeless men and provides a safe place for them to operate from, allowing them with time and with continuous education to look at moving on to their own tenancy & integrating with the community again. Gilven House Gilven House provides 10 bed spaces and 12 temporary flats for young homeless women in Fife as well as 85 hours worth of Visiting Support which allows vulnerable people in the community to live independently. The Employability Project has grown to deliver activities to homeless people across Fife and our Funky Flats Project allows clients who have recently moved into their own tenancies to decorate and make soft furnishings such as cushions, rugs, throws etc for their new home, giving them a sense of ownership. Success rates for these projects are high, we need your support to continue the work & to look into the future at how to grow and expand these projects.

Due to the joy they give us we decided to form a group to help and to rescue other unwanted hounds. Now we are working hard to change that hope into a reality for the other great hounds in Ireland. That is how we became a greyhounds and lurchers rescue and rehoming group. Our organization was established first in Czech republic and then in Ireland, and it is unwanted greyhounds and lurchers in Ireland we focus on to rescue and rehabilitate and search out and find new homes for. Our team are people in Ireland, Czech, Germany and Slovenia working together.

We chose Nkhata Bay because the people there came to the aid of one of our members in 1996. Since then, others have heard the story and got involved. We support the grassroots organisation HOPEmalawi. HOPEmalawi support those that are looking for a helping hand, not a hand-out. They argue against those in their community who won’t do anything to help themselves as much as the poverty they see around them. These are the people determined to help make a permanent change away from dependence on aid. That’s the end game. Our hope is to link people and community groups in the UK that will support and encourage similar groups in Nkhata Bay; these days’ communities have no borders. They inspire us as much as we inspire them. We are a community of like-minded people and everyone who wants to join in is welcome.
