Welcome to St Peter’s Church, Norton St Peter’s is a lively, family-friendly church offering a mixture of traditional and more contemporary worship. We have two services each Sunday and a very active Sunday School. We also have other activities including a children’s club, parent & toddler sessions, house groups, bell-ringing, a youth group and more! Our regular congregation includes all ages and we welcome anyone regardless of where they are on their journey of faith. The church is here for the whole community of Norton and we recognise that we are all explorers together. We want our worship to honour God, and to enable all to meet with him - something for everyone. St Peter’s church was built at the turn of the 20th century, to replace the old church of St Nicholas which stood where the Derwent Swimming Pool is now. The church is spacious and well-cared for and is a popular venue for weddings and baptisms. St Peter’s is also used as a venue for concerts and other events as we can offer a large space with good acoustics. Our Lady Chapel is Norton’s war memorial. We have a peal of eight bells. As a church we want to be able to provide 'Something for Everyone' in terms of exploring faith, experiencing community and engaging with God. Our vision encourages us to be creative in our worship, honest in our teaching and discussion and caring in our consideration of others.
