(UK, 1098176) Browse eventsIn addition to our work in supporting the schools which now have nearly 1000 children we are raising money to sink a borehole and create a reliable water supply to the St Zoe school near Mubende. Helping Uganda Schools (HUGS) is building futures for young people in Uganda by helping to provide schools for both able and disabled children and assist them through primary, secondary vocational and increasingly through further education. St Zoes Primary Secondary and Vocational Schools teach nearly 600 children from 5 to 20 with school results in the top 5 in the region. We have 80 acres of land to grow food for the children. Good Shepherd Special Needs School at Fort Portal with 120 children with learning disabilities is the only school of its type in the western half of Uganda. The Blog is at www.hugsinuganda.blogspot.com We are supporting the Lira babies home, an orphanage in the north of Uganda which is caring for nearly 50 abandoned infants and over a three year period will be looking after them and preparing them to be placed back with families when they are about 4 years old.
