(UK, 1158997) Browse eventsRaising £9000 for a Syrian Family to settle in BrauntonThe Syrian war has created the biggest humanitarian crisis since World War 2. Over 12 million Syrians have been displaced. 5.1 million of those are in refugee camps. Half of those in refugee camps are children. Life in a refugee camp is very difficult. Lots of children have to work to help support the family, and therefore miss out on an education. There is also a high risk of children being exploited through child labour, child marriage and other forms of abuse. The UK government has set up a Community Sponsorship Scheme which enables local UK communities to raise money to help support a Syrian family to integrate into the local area. This is part of the 20,000 Syrian refugees which the government has agreed to resettle in the UK by 2020. The Braunton Community Sponsorship group is hoping to be approved by the home office to resettle a Syrian family. As part of this we need to raise £9000. The money will go towards, housing, Interpretation, English lessons, food, transport etc for the family whilst they begin to integrate into the local community.By giving money, you can give hope and future to a Syrian family. You can help give the children an education, and the support to help the parents find work. You can be a part of changing a families future. You can be a part of a global community.Thankyou Charity No: 1158997

(UK, 1153433) Browse eventsTickled Pink has raised over £38m for breast cancer charities since it started 17 years ago. We are very grateful to everyone that has helped us reach such an amazing figure - we couldn't have done it without you. In 2014 Tickled Pink became a registered charity with the aim of making sure that nobody should be left to deal with breast cancer alone. We believe we are stronger together and that everyone needs a helping hand, especially those affected by breast cancer. We are encouraging everyone to lend a hand for Tickled Pink as we strive to raise £5m for breast cancer charities this year. Thank you
