YTD Raised: n/aAt Redemptive Cycles, we believe that transportation equity is social equity. We believe that bicycle ownership can serve as a bridge to independence, employment, community engagement and physical health for those individuals for whom a privately owned motor vehicle is not an option. Our Earn-A-Bike program enables clients to work for 12 hours to earn a bike, safety gear, and a repair credit in the shop. Our Sliding Scale program enables clients to pay what they can to get their bike repaired or maintained. In 2017 we served 153 Earn-A-Bike clients and provided $19,000+ in sliding scale repairs. We also work to cultivate and support an inclusive and vibrant cycling community in Birmingham :: We provide complimentary bike valet services for events to encourage ridership. We offer frequent mechanic education classes so that all cyclists can learn the skills necessary to maintain and repair their bicycles. We have installed a public workstation in our shop so that any community can use our tools to make repairs on their bike. And we ride every Thursday night (rain, shine or snow) and we welcome you to join us.
