Since 1969 Garvald Edinburgh has been supporting adults with learning disabilities. Our work is built on Steiner principles. We offer creative day opportunities to around 150 people, both in our own buildings and in community settings. Our high-quality workshops provide diverse craft, artistic and educational activities including: pottery, glassworking, joinery, puppetry, land work, tool refurbishment, furniture restoration, textiles, painting and more. Our bakery, confectionery and canteen workshops offer the opportunity to gain experience in food production. Our shop, the Mulberry Bush, provides retail work experience. Garvald runs a wide and changing programme of opportunities across the week, including bio-dance, yoga, swimming, walking groups, aerobics, eurythmy and horse riding. Our College and Community Liaison Worker works with outside agencies to make available college and community opportunities. Our community events throughout the year regularly bring together people from across Garvald and the wider community. Our supported living and outreach service includes accommodation-based support, from just a few hours a week up to 24-hour support. We work with around 40 people in our community house, their own homes, and flats made available through links with housing associations. We highly value the opinions and contributions of the people we support. From participating in recruitment interview panels to helping to organise fundraising events, the people we support have a real and valued role in shaping Garvald Edinburgh.

The Peter Hinkley Trust was set up in 1984 to promote and support talented young instrumentalists and singers in Harrow. Today we provide scholarships for children who demonstrate musical potential and commitment, but are in need of financial support to continue their studies.
