(UK, 520155) 3rd Ashton on Mersey Scout Group is a wholly voluntary organisation run in line with The Scout Association policies. It promotes the development of young people in a way they find enjoyable to achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their communities. We strive to ensure that no young person or adult is disadvantaged by reason of mental or physical disability, ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, religious or political belief, or financial situation. Child protection is paramount in all policies and activities. A code of good practice is operated to safeguard the welfare of all members by protecting them from physical, sexual and emotional harm. Young members actively help within the local community on a regular basis to forge good relationships with neighbours, the church and local organisations. The involvement of parents is encouraged at all times. The lasting impression of all members of 3rd Ashton, both past and present should be "Fun and Friends". We hold weekly meetings at the scout hut for all sections (boys and girls in beavers 6-8, cubs 8-10, scouts 10-14, young leaders 14-18 and girls in brownies 8-10 yrs) In addition we run camps for all sections each year, and a family camp. The programmes provided by the leaders and helpers are enjoyable and aimed at giving the youngsters respect for themselves and others, responsibility and confidence.
