We are a registered charity working across Hull and East Riding primary schools to help improve children’s literacy, boost reading ages and develop a lifelong love of reading. We are a totally non for profit organisation, our founders, trustees and volunteers all give up their time for free to help improve children’s literacy, boost reading ages and develop a lifelong love of reading. We support children in schools across our region providing reading helpers, reading spaces, books and dedicated one-on-one support for children who are falling behind with their reading. A good level of literacy is the foundation of all education. Ready, Steady, Read works with primary schools to identify children whose levels of reading are significantly behind their chronological age and then supplies reading mentors to work with children to help them gain an age appropriate reading level.

Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. We are a small charity that raise funds for children's orphanages in Africa and the Far East. We specialise in raising money to support existing orphanages that look after children that have been orphaned due to parents being lost to disease or children being unwanted. These children would have little hope of survival without the orphanages and the money raised to support them. Please donate to support our cause. Charity No: 1111329
