(UK, 1127468) Browse eventsFor 12 years the local homeless and vulnerable people have benefitted from our work. We offer food, hot drinks, clothing, sleeping bags and conversation to allow them to survive and help regain their self respect. We also offer art classes to help them reintegrate. This is entirely volunteer-run.
Arun Angels have been patrolling the streets of Bognor Regis since December 2009. Our Street Angels are volunteers who believe that people deserve care and love in their time of need. We work in Bognor Regis town centre and the seafront area around pubs and clubs to provide support and care to people who may be distressed or vulnerable. The aim is to watch out for those who have become vulnerable and to offer help and support. Typically this would include those who are distressed, affected by alcohol, violence or the fear of violence. There are times when listening to someone’s story or simply being there brings a sense of calm and well-being to a person. We work closely with local agencies such as the police, local authority, licensees and town centre businesses. However we often find that it is just kindness, reassurance and someone to listen that is all that is needed. Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. We are the Friends of Chernobyl's Children Northallerton. As a local, independent charity our aim is to bring around a dozen children to the local area to stay with host families for a month's respite care from the radiation which encompasses their daily lives. The children we bring are from socially deprived homes in the Mogilev area of southern Belarus and their lives and those of their families have been affected by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster. The children come to North Yorkshire for a month of love and care each year for four years, arriving in the UK with nothing, but each returning home with a suitcase full of clothing, toys, vitamins and gifts for their families to help them until they return to us the following year.On the 26th April this year it will be 30 years since the Chernobyl disaster. Please help us to turn '30 into £3,000' by donating today. Thank you.
